I built this amplifier back in my younger days, back in the early s. Since that time, I've made many contacts using it and this amplifier has always been a real benefit for my ham station. On numerous occasions, I've gotten requests from other hams, asking for a copy of the schematic or some other detail on my amplifier. The truth is, when I originally built the amplifier, I had no "official" schematic and different sections were on various scraps of paper. I always kept the scraps together in a folder but it was far from being an organized documentation package.

QRZ Forums. I have heard a lot about the Eimac z tubes getting gassy if not used. Does this apply to other z tubes made by Taylor and RF parts today, in other words have they fixed the problem. Question No. I never heard anyone comment on any other tube, but the z. I have assumed that it would apply to others. It applies to all brands of Z, and should apply to the Z also, although that tube is long obsolete and nobody makes it anymore.

This appears to be a semi-professionally made piece, as it has a serial number of on the back. My guess is a ham was making these as a part-time business, I just don't know who. If you know the call-sign of the builder, we'd love your input!
