PS Audio Stellar Phono Preamplifier
PS Audio, a US company designing and manufacturing high-performance audio products for over 40 years, announced the introduction of a new product category called a Phono Converter. The Phono Converter, or NPC, features two separate and parallel signal path formats in one chassis with a single user interface. The unit is capable of simultaneously producing both a balanced analog audio output as well as a digital PCM or DSD output in multiple formats.
Vinyl mastering is handled through filters and reverse RIAA EQ kept strictly in the analog domain from the input to the output of the cutting lathe. Simultaneous analog and digital outputs are available on the NPC. Connections to a preamplifier, DAC, or computer are simple and direct. The pure DSD stream is maintained perfectly for future playback.

I could swear something suddenly opened up during this listening session. Then it occurred to me that I am probably in the vicinity of 50 hours with this phono preamp. Of course this my explain "Why I Don't Love Vinyl" but if so I am going to feel like a moron for not remembering that while I had bought the vinyl gear used it was virtually new. But we will save that crow eating for when I am more sure about the vinyl rig being 1 broken in and 2 set up correctly. I'd venture to say it will show signs of opening up around the time you currently have and then settle in and gradually after the hours be fully broken in.

LOG IN. Did you try it at home or at a dealer? I'm considering trying one out for an in home demo to put up against my Musical Surroundings Nova III with the linear power supply to see how it compares. Any insight into either the in home trial is even worth it at this close of a price point? Michael Fremer's views on the Stellar is what has me very very curious and has me considering moving over.
