I just finished tearing down and rebuilding a Sansui AU At the end of the process I remembered the annoying spring clip speaker terminals that kind of cheapen an otherwise battleship of an amp. I decided to come up with a reversible conversion that requires no modification to the rear panel, and no additional hardware. I started by ordering eight 5-way binding posts from Amazon these ones. Then I removed the spring clip terminals and measured the two openings in the rear panel.
I designed two piece adapters inside and outside parts that are clamped together by the threaded binding post studs and nuts. The outer part is keyed to the shape of the opening to prevent movement.
The removable solder tabs made it a lot easier to pull through the bottom of the amp, strip, solder, then feed them back into the rear area. It took a few hours including the planning, CAD, 3D printing, installation. But it's extremely robust -- the rear panel of the amp flexes well before the adapters.

There's nothing wrong with the original spring clip connectors. I've always thought it bizarre that people want to change these for binding posts I usually refuse the job when people ask for this. Replaced are all electrolytic capacitors in the amp and added 1 capacitor on the power supply, there are now 2x uF 50V and new diodes in the supply.
