Gallo nucelus micro se loudspeakers

The Micro SE utilizes a specially developed ultra-wide dispersion flat-diaphragm transducer that covers a frequency range from Hz to 22Khz, all powered by a single driver. This technology enables the Micro SE to perform as a true audiophile loudspeaker, without large enclosures or a hefty price tag. And because we use a single driver, the Micro SE has no need for a crossover which always hurts the sound. Our Optimized Pulse Technology OPT and patented S2 damping control pods eliminate all ear-fatiguing coloration's, enclosure resonances and distortions. Enclosed in our world renowned spherical enclosure, the result is a compact satellite speaker that sounds incredible, with a vivid, crystal-clear 3D sound stage that remains stable regardless of your listening position. By choosing a sphere, the strongest possible shape, we have eliminated internal resonance and external diffraction, the two main causes of loudspeaker distortion.

Thread starter Sir4K Start date Sep 14, Sir4K Standard Member. Obviously Anthony Gallo's appear to be somewhat rarer as a purchase for most people due to their size but the size is what attracts me to them and the exemplary sound you can get from them.

I had a demo of the speakers in a shop however they didn't have the Yamaha in stock so couldn't actually demo that. Any advice would be great.

Hi there, welcome to AVF! That combination will be absolutely fine and the Micro SE are actually excellent speakers for their size, however you should keep in mind that the speakers are relatively tiny and they have quite limited bass response, therefore you'd either need a sub or to go for bigger speakers if you want any bass at all really.

Good luck! Click to expand The amp is definitely good enough, provided you don't expect to flex the walls or induce ear pain - your ears should give in before the amp runs out of juice. In terms of the sub, unless you're looking for a visually matching set then I would recommend you look up the BK XXLS - it's cheaper than the TR-1D, it's a sealed design and it's possibly the best sub at it's price point as new. It can filter at up to Hz on a high-level input so you should be able to integrate it with the speakers just as easily as the TR-1D, only it goes deeper and I would say it's better.

I honestly think Hz is plenty, unless you're going to be able to have dual subs located in the same place as the speakers or go for boundary woofers then you'll probably want to cut the sub below Hz at most anyway, simply because sounds start getting directional around that frequency.

Forgot to ask, what sources will you be using with these? I'm not sure what other amp you could get off the top of my head, but I'll take a look. BlueWizard Distinguished Member.

There is no denying the quality of the Anthony Gallo speakers, but speakers this small are meant to be satellite. They simply will not stand on their own as functional speakers. Personally, I think you would be better of with equivalently priced Bookshelf Speakers and a Sub, or quality floorstanding speakers. Are they the appropriate speaker for how you will use them?

Are they the best way to spend your money relative to your needs? I have a bias against Satellite speakers, keep that in mind. But for more weight and impact, and still top sound quality, I'm more likely to go for good bookshelf with a Sub than Satellite with a Sub. Bookshelf speakers are capable of standing on their own as quality music speakers, Satellite are limited in this respect.

The Dali Zensor 7 or the Wharfedale are very good speakers for the money. Either would leave you with great sound and cash in your pocket, and neither is weak in the bass area. These are not wimpy speakers by any means, and neither are the more affordable Diamond , or the even more affordable Diamond Though this is not limited to Diamonds. There are other brands that are also worth considering. My point is to simply point out an alternative approach to the problem and to the Budget.

It is up to you to determine how the speakers will be used, and what best serves your circumstances and your preferences. Again, nothing more than an alternative perspective. But do give some though to specifically what you need the speakers to do, and what speakers fill that need. Last edited: Sep 21, BlueWizard said:. Hi there - I think what Steve is trying to say is that the Gallo speakers can't really stand on their own, as in without a subwoofer; I'm pretty sure you already know this though!

Since you've already researched most of this and decided that floorstanding speakers or at least those in your price range aren't really what you want, I would say the Gallo speakers will suit, especially since you're already heard them and found them to suit your ears. Yes, the Gallo will not stand on their own , though that was directed at all Satellite speakers.

But a 2. If bass is a problem, then a big Subwoofer certainly does not solve that problem. You will have less problems with bass with a floorstanding or a good high end full range Bookshelf.

Notice I never said you were wrong. In fact, I praised the Gallo. I simply said - make sure what you are buying is suited to your circumstances and you needs. If the system as you have configured it does indeed precisely serve your needs, then - rock and roll dude. Just for myself, keeping in mind my stated prejudices, in a situation where I don't want bass to penetrate into the neighbors space, my money would go into top quality reasonably full range bookshelf speakers.

Or alternately, modest floorstanding speakers. They are certainly going to be more modest in the bass weight than a watt 12" Subwoofer. This has made many Editor's Choice lists from a variety of different audio magazines. Five inch bass drivers are not going to rattle the walls or the neighbors. Again, I'm not saying you are wrong. I'm not saying don't do what you are planning to do.

I'm saying weigh all the factors, and decide which of the many methods presented really does best suit your needs. If in the end, you decide you are already on the right path, then fine.

But for myself, in what seems to be your situation, I think good near full range bookshelf with no Sub are a better solution. And, it you need a bit more bass weight, then modest floorstanding. Once again, I point out that I have a well known on-going bias in the direction I am leaning.

I don't like Satellite. I don't see the value in such a limited speaker. At the same time, I do see their value in some circumstances. The same with Subs, while I see the advantage, I simply have no interest.

I would rather put that considerable sum of money into better front speakers. However, I'm not everybody. I don't insist that everyone agree with me. I'm simply pointing out alternative solutions to the problem as I perceive it. If you insist on a Subwoofer, than I think the BK Electronics XLS front firing might be a better choice as it is a 10" Sub with response down to 17hz and a w amp. Even the modest Gemini-II would be workable for you as a Sub. It doesn't go super deep, but as deep as is necessary for any music and most movies.

Can anyone confirm? But my choice would still be quality bookshelf or modest floorstanding, especially if you are trying to control the bass. But then, that's just the way I'm bent. Last edited: Sep 22, I feel if perhaps I have over-sold myself here.

While I don't retract anything I said, it is possible you have already made up your mind and merely came here for confirmation. Which others are giving you.

I think the XLS might be a bit of overkill, especially since you are concerned about sound leaking into your neighbor's space. I think whatever you get, unless no one is below you, you probably want a Front Firing Sub. If you are on the ground or lower-floor with no one below you, even the modest Gemini-II would do a good job.

But it looks like a Down Firing Sub. So, that is something to consider. There are certainly many brands of Subs to choose from. Though the BK Electronics represent excellent value in a quality and popular Subwoofer.

In other brand named Sub, you can probably get something nice and something a bit more specific to your needs, but you really aren't going to save any money. The best value really is BK Electronics, though it is not the only possible choice. However, that said, I don't retract anything I said.
