The HS5 Powered Studio Monitor from Yamaha is a bi-amplified monitor that is designed for accurate sound reproduction. It is capable of up to 70W of total output and features a 5-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter with waveguide that can produce frequencies up to 30kHz.

Low Resonance Enclosure Design HS Series cabinets are designed to eliminate unwanted resonance and increase the accuracy of sound reproduction to their extreme limit. The enclosures are constructed from a dense MDF with a damped acoustic response. HS Series engineers also employed a traditional three-way mitered-joint technique. Common to architectural design, this construction firmly anchors the corners of the enclosure to improve durability and eliminate unwanted resonance that can influence overall sound.

Noise Reduction Technology Speaker port design can greatly influence the clarity of overall sound. Often a vortex at the either end of the port can generate air vibrations inside of the port, causing unwanted noise.

By adopting a noise reduction technology that incorporates an analysis of a visual representation of the sound, Yamaha's engineers are able to control and reduce the vortex. Through this analysis Yamaha has arrived at a port design that reduces noise up to 6dB.

Controls and Connectivity HS Series full-range models feature two response controls with settings that allow them to adapt to the surface acoustics of rooms of varying shape and size.

For inputs, HS full-range speakers can accommodate a range of balanced and unbalanced sources such as mixers, keyboards and audio interfaces with XLR and TRS phone jacks. The HS5 low price see lowest price , incredible sound quality and 5-inch woofer makes it one of the best studio monitors for small studio owners. It was a snowy winter day in our hometown of Toronto when we finally decided to drive to the closest pro audio shop and get our first pair of Yamaha speakers. In the car, we argued about which model we should pick and we all agreed on the biggest, most expensive HS8. We then proceeded to the store and one of the employees asked us if we need any help. We thanked him and purchased a pair of the Yamaha HS5 which were at the time our first pair of Yamaha studio monitors.

By combining acquired knowledge and expertise with state-of-the-art sound technologies, Yamahas speaker engineering team have examined, then optimized, every aspect that has contributed to making these monitors the most trusted in the business. Black Yamaha HS5 Studio Monitor

Great Product. Already had one connected to my Yamaha P Now with two HS5 the sound is amazing. Just recently setup my home studio, was initially gonna get the Rokit but after some serious consideration and side by side comparison, I went for the Yamaha HS5. The biggest reason is: Yamaha's monitor is more balanced. The Rokit sounds great in person, but it has too much bass boost. For people listening at home it's great but when you take it your track elsewhere, you'll realize your mix has no bass.
