These little bookshelf speakers caught my eye. There was hardly any auction description and no branding visible on the speakers anywhere. I decided to purchase these with an intention of using them in my bedroom system, if they turn out to sound good enough. I've had no luck on Audiokarma yet, so I thought I'd post a little closer to home. They're really quite good speakers despite needing a dust! They could be MLS-4's. Taken from an old Wilmslow Audio catalogue -. All the ads I've seen for Audiomaster speakers refr to themas just that - the model designations seem to have slipped! Robin Marshall who was at Audiomaster founded Epos - may be worth investigating in that direction? Thanks for the info!

Only true audiophiles will know of even the existence of these vintage speakers and will relish and appreciate the sound that they produce. Speaker Info: Audiomaster was a British brand that was launched in the early 70s. The man responsible for speaker design was Robin Marshall ex BBC engineer who later ended up working for Monitor Audio and then set up his own brand. At the same time they also designed their own speakers, with the first model being Image One, which evolved into Image Two, which in turn evolved into the MLS Audiomaster sold plenty of MLS-1s and other models during the 70s.

Hi I knew when I aqquired these, that they were going to sound good, but I really didn't think they would be this good! The clarity of these lovely old classics is Outstanding! I put them them next to my very rich sounding floorstanders for comparison, and at first, they sounded rather lightweight compared to the Acoustic Energies, although the sound that was coming from the tweeters was astonishingly good. After just a couple of minutes, my ears readjusted and I realised that my old faithfull floorstanders are actually a bit overblown and these Audiomasters were really telling the truth about the music - the definition is phenominal. To my adjusted ears, within a couple of minutes listening, the bass and mid production became seriously clear and powerful, blending into the highly informative soundscape spreading out from the incredible Audax tweeters. Geek speak, I know, but these beauties put a whole new perspective on some of my favourite old CD's.

These speakers feature rugged cones and projectors constructed of spun aluminum. The wiring connections are enclosed in a dust and moisture-proof, die-cast aluminum compartment. All external surfaces are finished with a gray powder coat paint. There are transformer taps at 15, 9, 3 and 1.
