Ampzilla history 2019

We sure have a lot of Schiit Audio about Dismal Manor. How did it happen? More importantly, why did it happen? The Schiit Audio product line, especially the headphone amplifiers have a similar sound as co-founders Jason Stoddard and Mike Moffat are largely responsible for the sound of a product.

Reviewed in the United States on January 26, Let me start by stating that i own the Denon ci 2nd or 3rd flagship at the time and i am using 7. Not During LFE setting only which by the way its the recommended setting from many experts. Well, during a Christmas deal i was able to purchase this Emotiva for a great price and i immediately jumped on it at This amp is watts x 2.

I set it up to the mains and began to play music, one thing i noticed right away was that the string guitars are more profound and articulated it plays those strings so well that they sound 3d, the sound floats in the air if this makes since maybe called airy? The bass is just as good as my Denon was and the sound is not colored in any way. In other words this amp did not change the sound signature of the already beautiful sound of my Denon with the exception of, lets say more punch in the sound but same signature.

The trigger cable worked great too, when i turn on the Denon, the Emotiva comes on too. I've had this amp for two months now and i love it. Oh, the movie Interstellar has wicked bass and the Emotiva BasX A did not miss a beat with the sound. Anyway i hope this helps anyone on the fence. I had to give it 5 stars. Top critical review. Reviewed in the United States on January 28, I was very disappointed in the Emotiva.

Given all the reviews in audio circles, I had high expectations. I'm one of those audiophiles that needs to do it on a budget, so the Emotiva was the choice. The first amp the arrived DOA. A wire had come loose, but that was corrected. It quickly became apparent I needed more power, so I ordered the A The a sounded good, but after only a few weeks it just died.

I sent it and the pre-amp back and ended up buying another brand. I hate to leave a bad review, but I have to believe there are other people out there who love music, and don't have a ton of extra money to spend on it, so this is really to help someone else avoid my mistake. People cheaping out on an amp could use the former more than the latter- chances are they have a low end front end lacking in 12V output. Low profile is nice as are lack of blinking lights, but its odd length makes fitting it onto furniture or a rack an enormous PITA.

Packaging: are you kidding me? Absolutely inadequate in every respect. I've had the A for almost six months now and I'm super happy with it. I first got into high-end audio in when I bought my first non-mass-market system. All of my equipment over the years has been high quality, but value-driven, and this amp fits comfortably in that approach.

A lot of audiophiles look down their noses at Emotiva because of a their price points, and b their emphasis on home theater rather than 2-channel music reproduction. But this amp is a real winner. And it's gotten better as it's burned in. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the internal fans, which are audible.

Not enough to detract from listening, but enough that you notice them - like the faint sound of water running in some other part of the house. I've considered getting an external fan to help keep it from getting warm enough to trigger the internal fans, but something like that could be just as noisy, if not more. This Emo fits very comfortably in that company. Style: 5-Channel Configuration: Receiver. I find this to be the best hi-fi option for true surround sound via AVR.

Their onboard amps will drive the ATMOS ceiling channels with pristine accuracy and power while this Emotiva amp delivers the foundational, 5 channel, hi-fi sound. No Doubt whatsoever. I have had nothing but grief with this unit. It will run fine for a week or two and then it will go into the protection mode. This was purchased to run a 9. Instead i will go with the new denon avr h which will give me 11 onboard channels of amplification.

Bought directly from emotiva website brands new. After turning it on the amp making hissing noise like an old telephone modems come from the power coils not the fans very disappointed. It is quiet. I can crank the volume all the way up and hear nothing, no hiss, no hum, from my speakers.

It barely gets luke warm driving my Usher N speakers. It presents details in the music over and above my Marantz int. It has been perfectly reliable. The highs and mids are not accurate and lacking detail. It seems well built, but the internals are where this amp fails. Yes, for a cheap amp it's ok, however, VERY misleading to call it affordable audiophile One person found this helpful. Was scratch and dent item. No cables were included.

I think something is wrong with the amplifier as it sounds way too bright compared to the 10 year old Onkyo amplifier I was using prior. Fans come on almost immediately and are broken. Sound like swamp bugs and drowns out music. Emotiva support does not respond. Stay away. Get fast answers from reviewers. Please make sure that you are posting in the form of a question. ampzilla history 2019

Jim Bongiorno was among the first high powered amp designers. By the mid 70s he had opened his own company we thought called GAS. I was happy to sell these good sounding preamps and amps. Not much else was around then that was up to the task. Jim had a personality like Buddy Rich.

However, amplifiers appeared periodically, which, thanks to circuitry and design solutions, remained in history as symbols of their era, as standards of quality, as devices that predetermined the development of whole areas.

High-end audio as we think of it today is about fifty years old. Some brands from the early days are still around and iconic today. Others have faded into fond memories of beautiful musical moments gone by. Few companies have proven successful in maintaining their creativity and innovation after the passing of the visionary founder. In the case of Spread Spectrum Technologies, a fortuitous introduction between founder James Bongiorno and EJ Sarmento of Wyred 4 Sound cemented the continuation of the company. He was looking for someone who had the engineering and manufacturing knowledge to put his innovative ideas into wider production, and EJ was the perfect partner given his extensive industry background and with many of his own product innovations.
