Top contributor. Blu-ray reviews: In answer to your question, I only own Definitive Technology speakers and I think the sound from them is really fantastic. As you can see below, I have 2 powered subwoofers too! I highly recommend these speakers although I am sure there are others who are partial to other speaker manufacturers. All with latest DSP and firmware updates. Blu-ray reviews: 1. I have had the BP6's for allmost 5 years now and love them. They are excellent speakers for the size and money.

Trading Score: 2. I have had nothing but plesant experiences with Definitive speakers I still use them in my surrounds - Audio Connection in Virginia sold them -they also had the Snells in the same room! The BP's really don't need a sub - those are great speakers and there would be no shame in your game with those. Member since: Oct I've had Def Techs for over 10 years now and they have always sounded great for the theater! Well, the BP6's I looked at didn't have the sub in them, but they did have great low extension from what I could hear- the guy put on a bass cd and I was impressed.

Was rolling around the mall and such with my wife just a bit ago and had her drop me off at BB which has a Magnolia store. Listened to the BP7's and actually didn't like them as much as the BP6's. Maybe it was the way they were setup but I felt like there was almost too much bass. Was listening to some Eagles Hotel California and it felt a bit overwhelmed. Then I got the guy to play it with some Martin Logan Electrostats just for kicks.

Woo, those were neat. I was more interested in the technology than the sound, but man they were SO clear on the acoustic guitar. Amazing speakers. I'm still kind of hooked on those BP6's. I might try and find some way to work them into my system in the near future. Course that means selling my old Polkies all over again. Great speakers though. Member since: Nov BP6s are great speakers but I would use a subwoofer with these.

I currently am using these for my fronts and while they are great I'm hoping to upgrade to some of the new bp towers in the near future.

Check out 6th ave because I know they were blowing them out for about a pair during christmas time. Originally Posted by ak I've had two BP6s as my fronts now for about two years and love them.

I believe they are Def Tech's smallest towers but, yea, they still pack a punch. I also have a sub-woofer in my system not a Def Tech. Last edited by dvcmember; at PM. Reason: Fixed error.

Come to think of it I paid more for my pms at bestbuy a few years ago and the bp6 are better speakers in my opinion.

Ugh, I've got the bug for these speakers bad. The problem is twofold- my current fronts and center would need to be sold, and that damn center speaker is pretty expensive. I might try and go listen again today to those speakers but I'm sure that won't help me make a good decision about them Member since: Jan You only live once aramis.

I had the BP6's four actually as fronts and surrounds about years ago. Great speakers and highly recommended. Can you folks help me pair up some of the older models? I've seen some stuff online used that I'm considering. BP8 fronts pairs with which center? BP20's come with the integrated sub. CLR would pair with which fronts? Is this a speaker worth looking at? CLR can someone help me timbre-match this to all the fronts out there? There is a lot of conflicting or lacking information on some of these models and the model 's are confusing.

Thanks as always fellas. Member since: Jul Home Theater Gallery: 8. I have the bp10s and the clr check my sig. Can't say enough about them! Love em! Love em, the is worth every penny. Last edited by gandytime; at AM. Reason: Multi tasking put 8's instead of 10's. Trading Score: 1. I bought the super towers in from a high-end dealer.

I spent several hours there and auditioned almost every high-end speakers they had. The owner of the shop and I reached the conclusion that no other speaker performed as well as the Def Tech super towers. Originally Posted by Big Daddy. Member since: Dec Home Theater Gallery: 6. I couldn't be happier with the sound I get, especially for what everything cost me. Thanks given by: josephga All times are GMT.

Definitive Technology BP10 Tower Speakers

The BP10 was the first step in building the company that stands 20 years later as the best selling and most honored brand of audiophile-grade loudspeakers in the USA. Later Definitive pioneered the concept of «powered towers» by incorporating powered subwoofers into Bipolar floor-standing speakers and dubbed them «SuperTowers. The BPST SuperTower is the crowning achievement of over 20 years of research and development to create the perfect balance of style, convenience, and most of all performance in a floor-standing loudspeaker. Many experts and in-the-know listeners agree that bipolar speakers are superior for both music and home theater. With bipolar speaker technology each speaker incorporates two sets of drivers, one facing forward and the other facing to the rear so that the speakers radiate sound both forward and rearward exactly as sound is produced in real life. This new ground-breaking technology combines the huge life-like imaging benefits of bipolar design with improved pinpoint localization of soloists, greater placement flexibility, and superior intelligibility. The sonic benefits you hear are dramatic! This unique technology provides you with a lifelike balance of early-arrival sound from the front facing drivers, which provides focus, clarity and location data, and reflected delayed sound from the rear drivers which conveys the lush three-dimensional soundstage of a live music or cinematic performance.

Definitive Technology BP9000 Series 5.4.4 Speaker Package Review

The Definitive Technology DR7 loudspeaker system features the same styling and many of the technological features that were introduced in the company's first product, the BP Also unlike them, it uses only conventionally forward-facing drivers. Like the BP10 and BP20, it is covered on four sides by a snugly fitting black cloth sleeve. The visible portions of the wooden base and the removable wooden top are finished in glossy black piano lacquer or golden oak. The input terminals-multiway binding posts that also accept single or double banana plugs-are on the bottom of the cabinet, whose base is slotted to clear the connecting cable. The DR7 is a two-way vented system with a 6-inch woofer, a 1-inch ferrofluid-cooled tweeter, and a phase-coherent Linkwitz-Riley crossover network. The woofer is a little above the center of the front panel, the tweeter near the top, and the woofer port near the bottom.
