Simmons considers "Monster" to be "one of the best or the top three albums we've ever done. There's too much going on outside, and who better to trust than Stanley? He's a very good team player and isn't afraid to say, 'Yeah, maybe I'm not right? Let's try this' or 'Let's try that. It's really a band effort, like four guys in a car but somebody's got to be driving and everybody else is going, 'No, turn right here, turn right there! Kiss has released a first single from "Monster," "Hell or Hallelujah," which the group is already playing during its current tour with Motley Crue.

The band played a handful of songs from their album The Sound of Madness , and S econd Chance — the second single from that album — was a big hit with the audience. The band had a good stage presence, and though it was clear the crowd was somewhat impatient as they waited for KISS, lead singer Brent Smith was able to generate some support and applause. Probably noticing that the crowd was getting restless, Shannon stood on a step and took a video of the audience, getting each section to cheer loudly. Then the lights went out, the curtain fell, and KISS emerged. A notable entrance, the band members were lowered to the stage from the top of a giant metal spider that was one of the main pieces of their stage setup.

I will have all of those memories. In fact, Stanley, in typical fashion for a band that has never been short on bravado, said this last outing, billed as the End of the Road tour, is actually a festive occasion. The show, indeed, is bigger and bolder than any Kiss has taken on the road, Stanley said. This show is more bombastic. The lights are stunning.

The doors to Harbour Station opened about fifteen minutes late, which caused a crazy bottleneck to get into the building, but went fairly quickly. Shinedown rocked for a solid 45 minutes playing a mix of heavy up-tempo songs and some slower rock power ballad type tunes. Well received by the crowd, they rocked the room and were a great warm up for what was to come.
