Do I need to remove the factory stereo or is there an amp in the car that I can just replace? Do I need an adapter to fit to the new amp? Do I only need to replace the speakers and amp and leave the stock wiring as it is? Does the HiFi kit come with an amp? You need an amp wiring kit but only short runs of power and ground you could get offcuts from an audio shop as the battery is in the boot. You can tap into the OEM speaker cables or run new cables from the speaker back to the amp.
Where can I get one? With the amp wiring kit do I connect it to the stereo and run the cables down to the back? I have a amp wiring kit already with 30mm2 copper wires and fuses.
No I'm not sure if I have tweeters! I have to go out and listen. I only assumed that if I has the grills it has the tweeters. If the tweeters are not there I assume that there is no speaker cables. I have installed amps and stereos before but in old 80s cars. The head units already comes with RCA outputs and the interior in old cars is much easier to remove. I want to minimize the custom wiring.
I found this Gladen quad lock wiring kit. Is it everything I need to connect the headunit and speakers to my amp? My amp is 4 channels but does not have a DSP. I read that the stock base stereo has a weird EQ setting.
I like plug and play stuff. Must investigate the remote turn on thing. The amp I have now is probably not so good. Gas PRO But as you said! I could try with this one first to see if everything works!
Is there anything else I should think about when installing everything? I have 50mm2 and 20mm2 wires and amp ANL fuses so connecting the amp should be easy.
I like it that the battery is in the boot! Makes it really easy. Apparently the extreme kit is out of stock so I went with the standard kit. The tweeters and mids are the same. Only the subwoofers are upgraded in the extreme kit from what I understand. I might add a subwoofer in the boot in the future cause I have one laying around and a Gas Pro But I don't want to loose the storage in the boot though I hope that the subwoofers in the Gladen kit is enough I have never heard the kit installed.
Im looking forward to installing it. I have only installed after market audio stuff in a 80s Volkswagen Golf where I could just cut the interior to fit everything. Now in this car I don't want to break anything so it will take some time removing the interior parts haha But I have already removed the CCC unit. I sent it for repair because the navigation screen was stuck on the BMW logo and the stereo stopped working.

I am a HiFi-fan since I was 14 years old. I had a lot of different gear, and the possibility to take some stuff home over the weekend from a local HiFi-dealer where I jobbed. There are standard types in use for the analog audio sections in the input stages of amplifiers or analog output stages of digital devices. In some cases you will find a NE single channel or NE dual channel. There are older ones, like TL or LF , and so on. The quality of this IC limits the overall quality, no matter how good the rest of the circuits might be. They cost only a few Dollars each. They are pin to pin compatible with the older ones you want to replace. You just can solder the old ones out, and the new ones in.
