By Aoresteen , July 4, in Epiphone Electrics. I'm thinking about getting an Epi Les Paul Jr with the wrap-around bridge. Can these bridges be replaced with an adjustable wrap around bridge? I see replacement bridges offered for Gibson but no mention if they will fit Epiphone models. Great little guitars, those Juniors, after you have upgraded them. I have two of them, with one being my main guitar. There are lots of threads on this forum about Epi Junior mods, and a few that address your question.
Tune-o-matic Bridges
They come in several styles and shapes, depending on the guitar. Some Tune-o-matics have a retaining wire the vintage ABR-1, for example , others have self-contained saddles like the Nashville Tune-o-matic. No matter what style Tune-o-matic your guitar has, it's important to regularly inspect the bridge for wear. Eventually, you may need to replace it—we'll see why in a moment. I have tried lots of upgrades and mods, so I thought it was time to share my favourites. This is often where players make a mistake. Just because you sink an extra few hundred into modifying a guitar does not mean that you will ever get that back if you decide to sell the instrument in the future, as buyers generally want to buy a guitar in its original factory state. Taking this into account, I would suggest that you hold onto any original Les Paul parts so that you can return the guitar to stock state if you decide to sell it later.
