High quality pendant lamp made of glass and marble. Add Gift Wrap? While searching for spare parts for the radio, he was captivated by the glow that emits from the tube amplifier. The simple oval shape and the glow of the lamp is an obvious reference to this, just as the name Amp refers to the English term; tube amplifier. The Amp lamps are characterised by their classic but high-quality materials: glass and marble. They are made of two different parts, the glass shade emits a soft light and the marble creates a beautiful contrast.

Tube Issues

His work consists of both small- and large scale products. He also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually. If you understand the product, it does not need any explanation. The essence of my design is for it to be bought and used. Therefore, it has to satisfy not only the functional aspects, but also the psychological and aesthetic needs.

Anyway, lighting up the tubes is kinda boring, just using them as light bulbs. with electronics a bit, you could wire this up to make a small amplifier.

The pilot light on a Wurlitzer The circuitry that turns the amp on and off is very simple: pretty much just some wiring that provides line voltage to the transformer. More commonly, this wiring is in great shape, voltage passes through it with no problem at all, the amp turns on, all the bad components inside receive all the power that the circuit can offer, and then the amp starts malfunctioning. Not turning on is likely a power supply issue, while not passing signal is a more general problem that could be located in the preamp, power amp, or speaker. If you hear anything out of your speaker, even just a quiet hum, your amp is officially on and you have a no-signal problem. Audio amplifiers, and tube amplifiers in particular, contain high voltages. Do not attempt to repair an amplifier without following the appropriate safety protocols. This includes but is not limited to discharging the electrolytic capacitors if you are troubleshooting the circuit within the amp chassis.

Don't fear the datasheet. Tube datasheets are a fun read. Google for "12DT8" and the datasheet is the first or second link. The heater connections are labeled "H". I believe you will find many tubes have the same pinout. If you look at the radio itself there is usually a label listing the tube complement. For the heater locations of the unmarked tubes, look to the radio they came from. Anyway, lighting up the tubes is kinda boring, just using them as light bulbs.

I've built a couple of tube guitar amps repurposed from vintage tube open circuit voltage and limit the current once the lamp lights.

A healthy amp is likely to make some sort of noise when idle. The amount varies depending on the voicing and design of the amp in question. Hiss is caused by high volume settings, high gain settings or bright EQ settings. Poor quality pedal boards, FX units or even guitars will feed noise into the amp that will be exponentially amplified. If the AC supply is poor or your outlet is not earthed well enough then it can create a humming or buzzing sound. Your amp is also susceptible to Radio Frequency Interference which is worse in areas that are close to radio towers.

Listen to this article instead 14 minutes. This is, of course, after you have eliminated the possibility of trivial problems.

You might have been practicing some heavy riffs on your tube amp. But what happens when your tube amp loses volume a day before your next gig? And after that, you can use that money saved on easy repairs and use it for scoring some new FX pedals instead. That first day you plugged it in and it was roaring at full-blast just at 3 or 4 on the main volume. Let me tell you how it works. As soon as you start to hear the sound is dropping-out, you need to turn off and unplug your amp. Let it sit for like 10 minutes, so all the juice is out of the wires.
