Yamaha ca 700 amplifier tubes

Introducing guitar products that offer a guide to the history of Yamaha guitars. Rather than copying overseas models, the development team used a proprietary design based on human engineering. They featured original designs for the tremolo unit, neck joint system, and pickups, demonstrating Yamaha's penchant for individuality and innovation from our very first models. Our flagship model with a distinctive body that came on the market as electric guitars started to boom in popularity. It started out as the B and changed its name one month later to SB-2, a name shared with our first electric guitar. Two combo amp models at 25 W and 50 W.

Tags: yamaha ca Messages: Location: Netherlands. This is my first post, so I had better introduce myself. I am Duch, 67y old, part-time pensioner, I have some experience with recapping and restoring Yamaha gear CT and A and other amps, but no pro whatsoever. I would really like some on advice on this one. I bought this CA in mint condition never been worked on, cabinet never been opened besides me , but with issues.

Class A does not work at all, no clicks from SP protection 2. Normal does work, but unstable, protection kicks in one and a while, but it comes back. Pre-amp works flawless on normal, sounds good on tube power-amp.

Pre-amp works almost flawless on class A, sometimes I am losing the negative part of the 1 khz sinus, bulb flickers and is rather bright high current? Everything on BOTH channels. Did not do anything yet awaiting advice Intentions: 1. I have bad experiences with Toshiba 2SCtype square-looking,black feet transistors so I want to replace them.

Look what happens after this. What do you think, advice? Main known problem areas. There are fusible resistors on the power supply. Fair chance they have drifted high and are causing the main problems. They are probably bad also. The micro switches are suspects.

I would go after the fusible resistors first, change to metal film resistors, then check amp adjustments and operation. New micro switches and a full recap are worthy effort to get it up to glory.

Do be aware that the traces on the input board are delicate so good de-soldering skills are advised. Thanks for your reply, Could you explain why the fusible resistors on the input board could effect both channels in the same way, furthermore the preamp works fine. How do I interpret 'input board'. Function circuit board? Rear Panel circuitboard? Operation circuit board? Thanks for the de-soldering warning! Messages: 69, Location: Fort Dodge, Iowa. Everyone thanks for all the replies! Should there be something I should know I just wait for the switches to arrive and than back to work! At the risk of looking stupid, I am still gone ask this. Studying the schematics of this amp I see two different power rails from different windings of the transformer.

One goes to the powerboard gets rectified and stabilized. Somehow they all merge together. How does this work? I really like to grasp what's going on there and is going wrong and why? Of course I could start replacing components, but honestly I like to know what I am doing.

Last edited: Oct 12, I replace these switches with 21 Amp switches as part of a normal preventative maintenance step. Great, thanks. Messages: 1, Location: Los Angeles. Excellent post and responses, coming from a CA owner. Are the and mostly similar? Mrv8q , Oct 12, Nashou66 , Oct 12, You must log in or sign up to reply here. Show Ignored Content. The consumer version, MC established McIntosh as the premier audio company of the day.

The label on the electric unit states "Bafang", which I guess would be a Chinese brand. When you see the code-2, a faulty or damaged throttle is to blame. To fix it, make sure to release the throttle, reboot, and try again. This motor does not function on a 36V pack. For an aquarium.

The Ten Most Significant Amplifiers of All Time

For sale is a vintage Yamaha CA integrated amplifier in excellent original condition. Unit has been tested and works, but should be serviced since it is completely original. There is definitely a bit of scratchiness in the controls when adjusting levels. Unit draws about 30 watts at idle. Cosmetically, unit is nice, but there is a scuff on the front visible in the photos. Otherwise, the aluminum faceplate is near perfect. This is a well built unit. Switches all feel substantial, knobs click with adjustment, volume knobs and control has good weight.

The Yamaha tube amps are rare, sought after and expensive IF you can actually get your hands on one. So far I have only seen pictures online.

Vintage Yamaha CA-700 Integrated Natural Sound Stereo Amplifier

The new A-S amplifiers, which were developed with the vision of achieving "True Sound", incorporate many technologies from Yamaha's series flagships. All three models have a very large and powerful toroidal transformer and use high-quality film capacitors. The latter are also fully balanced. To keep the impedance in the amplifier as low as possible, all three amplifiers use large diameter cables for the ground connection. The cases have been optimized for increased stiffness and the power transformers, block capacitors as well as heat sinks are screwed directly to the chassis.

Many are running original capacitors and parts, a testament to their durability, but they can be dramatically improved.

The Yamaha A-S3000 Integrated Amp Review

From turntables and cd players through to headphones and multi-room audio - offers more ways to listen to our favourite music than ever before, but if you really want to get the most out of your sources - an integrated amplifier might just be your best bet. An integrated amplifier simply combines a power amplifier and pre-amplifier in a single box. This is the 'beating heart' of your hifi system, linking your sources turntable, cd player, streamer etc. An integrated amplifier typically takes up far less space, simplifies your system and can save you some serious money. Features can vary widely between different integrated amps, so it's important to know what it is you need before purchasing. Before purchasing an integrated amplifier its worth considering the main features and functions you need for your system, or might need in the future.
