Frankly almost any driver sold on this site would suffice, but when I think of SQ, loudness doesn't come to mind. I'm looking at a single 10 or 12 inch. The image dynamics I've heard good reviews on and I would definanly use a class d mono amp.
Probably give the idq10v3 watts rms? I want a good clear sounding woofer but that can play loud not after spl. Honnestly, if you are going for more SQ Just my suggestion.
What the heck Since you are browsing through this site, Why don't you check this out When I listen to music I don't want the sub over-powering the front-stage, and that's pretty easy to do in almost any setup. After reading his later posts it appears he just wants a lot of sub output and wants it to sound good, so as I said before just about any driver sold here would suffice.
The image dynamics sub is great, the only limitation being that it won't do db I find it to be a very accurate and transient sub, that being said, I personally prefer more headroom for when I feel the need for bass. It will perform well, but if you love a lot of electronica, or heavy bass music, you might want more output. I know that they can perform, i've heard a fair share of Image Dynamics speakers, and to date they have been responsible for some of the most accurate sounding vehicles I have had the pleasure to listen to.
