She is currently Professor and Head of the Viral Immunology Laboratory, School of Medical Sciences at the University of Sydney where she undertakes research and teaches immunology and virology. Her laboratory has gained novel insights into how viruses such as VZV and herpes simplex virus HSV can interact with key human immune cell types to evade innate and adaptive immune responses. The Cottage Grove city council is going to make important decisions about a Mississippi Dunes site master plan in the next few weeks. This is a crucial moment to advocate for public parks, perhaps our last big chance. Once the city council approves a mix of parkland and housing in the master plan, they will likely approve redevelopment applications aligned with that plan within months. Luckily, there are still multiple ways for community members to weigh in.
Coming up are two community meetings where the public is invited to speak. We're hoping for as big of a turnout as possible at these meetings to show decision-makers how much neighbors care about this project. And we hope you'll join us to speak for just minutes at one or both of these meetings. All you have to do is share what you hope to see for Mississippi Dunes and why it matters to you.
And we're here to help. Check out our best tips for speaking at a public meeting , and join us for a Zoom prep session on Monday, November 1, from 5—6 p. The Zoom session will be informal — no registration is required. We'll share ideas for points you may wish to make and build our energy to take action.

Wellbeing and Mental Health at Work. The balance between personal and professional life has been a focus of concern for employers, national and international bodies, and civil society. Competitiveness in research stands out as a risk factor for this balance, among other characteristic factors of contemporary Western life: depersonalization, urbanization, and bureaucratization contribute to the erosion of human relations. Additionally, the emotional and family support networks seem increasingly fragile or even non-existent. Therefore, it is important to create opportunities for self-knowledge and acquisition of tools essential to the resilience, wellbeing, and mental health of i3S employees.

While most linguistic work in the past decades has routinely paid lip service to the fact that information packaging is a function of context and therefore rooted in discourse, information structure IS has rarely been studied as a discourse phenomenon sui generis. This lack of interest in the discourse roots of IS is a corollary of the strict top-bottom approach that has dominated the IS scene for decades. The categories are taken to be predefined and the role of the research is confined to the identification of the structures through which these purported categories are realised. On this view, the ways information is packaged over larger stretches of speech, its relation to intentionality of communication and the cognitive states of the interlocutors are irrelevant. This workshop intends to look at IS from the opposite, bottom-up perspective. No a priori categories are assumed. The task of the IS research is to trace down communicative and interpersonal factors that determine the decisions concerning the form in which the utterance is produced and deduce language-specific categories of IS from the identification of these factors.
