Transforming Bodies

When we last left Liz, she had said something stupid that was easily interpreted to mean that Brendi K was mistreated by her family as a kid because she deserved it.

Remember, Christina has her own problems with Brendi K , which is another sign that what Liz said is fucked up. Besides, losing Brendi K [the K stands for Knucklehead] as a friend hardly seems worth being upset over.

Believe it or not, things only get more dramatic for Liz the rest of the episode. That starts with some performed drama in the acting challenge that Liz struggles through. Not that the directors would know that. Liz returns home and cries. The next morning, Liz wakes up later than the rest of the girls and finds herself waiting in a long line to get a shower. She wants to cut the line and nobody lets her, so again she cries.

Trust me when I say all the girls want Liz to take a shower - they just want her to take her turn. Why should Liz get to skip ahead of the girls who have been waiting? Respecting a queue is not bullying! Next, a potentially stinky Liz heads to the photoshoot where she decides to use her frustrations to portray a trapped ghost. Akerlund like it.

At night, Liz is all tired out from being a nutty ghost and wants her beauty sleep, except that the noisy girls downstairs are keeping her awake. Hell, this past week we saw Brendi K [the K stands for Knife] go to jail for allegedly breaking a restraining order and going after a former roommate talk about a crowded car!

Brendi K [the K stands for Kernel] is so dramatic, her housemates are investing in popcorn. As for Liz, the good thing about staying in your own hotel room is that you always get to be first in line for a shower. Liz seems refreshed and emotionally re -regulated when we next see her backstage before panel. Tyra shows up and Liz gushes about how beautiful she is….

Granted, she basically called herself an asshole earlier in the episode, but whatever, I still love the sentiment. The model bus pulls up to a dilapidated mansion, which serves as the site of the photo shoot. Drew explains that Lady Gaga on American Horror Story has bridged the gap between horror and fashion. He really should give credit where credit is due, though: ANTM did it first when they thought Kelly Cutrone would make a good judge. Drew says that the brief is for the models to act a combination of scared and fierce.

Drew introduces the freaky celebrity costume designer B. Akerlund to dress the girls and boy is she a sight for sore eyes. Easily has the worst photo, right? Speaking of sex toys, was Liz getting fit for a ball gag? Anything to make her shut up, I suppose. Oh the shade on Lady Gaga! Liberty, on the other hand, gets complimented for her wig-wearing ability.

This shot deserved another first call out. Congrats to Kyla on being the only pregnant model in the competition to keep her baby. Has she seen what she looks like? Look at how she bounces into a room. The judges have picked at contestants for not presenting themselves as models in the past, and I think that applies here.

But to be clear, I love her more for it. From what I can piece together, the characters are a divorced couple that want to give dating - or perhaps just fucking - another shot. But we rushed into marriage in our twenties because all of our Facebook friends were doing it.

Too cold for tongues, I guess! Even though the director, Anthony Hemingway, wanted less over-the-top from Liz, he eats it up from Khrystyana. She wins and is stunned. Another challenge? As a prize, Khrystyana will getting a speaking part in a future, unnamed Anthony Hemingway project. So basically she won an IOU, which is already more vowels than she has in her whole damn name.

Back in the house, every time Liz has a meltdown, and it happens multiple times, Khrystyana is right there to hear her out. Law challenges her to call him a bitch and she delivers the line in the least convincing manner ever.

The judges laugh their asses off at Khrystyana - like this is the girl who just won an acting challenge? Cheers to her continued success on this show! It looked like Shanice was a dead woman walking last week. Tyra warned her that without an attitude adjustment, she would go home. You do your thing, though, Shanice. The scene is all about sexual chemistry and Shanice has no problem getting into character. And I think lie is precisely what he did. Shanice looks bored, not scary or fierce, in her photo.

Shanice admits to Tyra that Kevin Phillips had her feeling a certain kind of way. Specifically, this kind of way:. Tyra encourages her to slide into his DMs how do you think she met Erik Asla? Previously, Coura had attended college to be a nurse, then dropped out to be a model, which her family thought she was crazy for doing.

Okay then, what are you good at, Coura? What did you think they were going to make you do here? The hosts, Arjun and Scott, are an entertaining duo, so check it out! As an aside, astute reader anandhinaveen pointed out that Law was serving Mona Lisa realness this episode.

Okay, now on to Rhiyan. She tries to soak off the negativity in the hot tub, while Rio coaches her to gain the confidence she admits she lacks. Do we need Ashley Graham up in here to give a pep talk? To their credit, Rio and Kyla try to shut that nonsense down. Rio wonders if Rhiyan suffers from body dysmorphia. Neither she nor I am qualified to diagnose Rhiyan, but I reckon it stems from Rhiyan having gained a lot of weight as a teen after her father died.

Whereas Coura gives literally nothing during her shoot, Rhiyan at least moves around a lot. Maybe too frantically. I can actually see fear in her face, which is not present in most other photos. I think they justifiably could have sent Rhiyan home for weak film the past two weeks, but to bring up that she sucked in the past and eliminate her now with this one seems cheap. I mean, why is Sandra still here? On her way out, Rhiyan seems to regain some cockiness, arguing that none of the girls are top models to start and a lot of the girls still have things to work on, so for her to the one to go home… [cue four-feet long braid flip.

I mean, Rhiyan does know that this is a show based around eliminations, right? Liz is excited to more closely resemble My Little Pony, which is totally high fashion. I still think her first wig is her best look. It does make Christina seem younger.

Her makeover photo is pure laughs, though. What is that pose? Did the green inspire her to channel the Hulk? Rio gets shaved and dyed platinum and it surprisingly really suits her. The last two cycles I thought Tatiana and Mikey were winning leading up to the finale. This revelation makes the other models jealous that Tyra already loves her look. Sorry for mentioning clowns , Kanani. Tyra says that Liberty is going red because she voted red. Go figure that the woman named Liberty backs an authoritarian.

If it turns out that Christina voted for Jill Stein, then you may have a case. Instead she gets a look that offers her an edge and helped her earn first call-out. Not that Liberty is happy with her look initially. We begin with the most boring of conflicts. Although Sandra must also want some drama, or else it would be easy to politely apologize and move on from this moment. Christina is outside as Brendi K complains, but she overhears her anyway and takes it as a sign, probably correctly, that Brendi K is trying to start something.

We all know Brendi K [the K stands for Kia] now lives in a car. Brendi K [the K stands for Kleenex] seems to understand that until she gets on the bus and starts crying that she looks too masculine. Brendi K [the K stands for Knit-scarf-worn-as-a-top what is that about anyway? The judges love her film and new hair, but worry that her dejected attitude will impede her performance.

Beauty exports

The new America Next Top M odel returns today and we can't wait for the makeovers, house drama, photo shoots, and outright ridiculousness of the show we know is nuts but love anyway. In honor of its new Tyra-less! Dacosta was runner-up in cycle 3 and had major success with modeling. Stolz was a contestant in cycle 5 of ANTM, and was memorable for being the show's first out lesbian. Tipton was third place in Cycle She now has a booming acting career that started with a breakout role in Crazy, Stupid, Love. Curry was very first winner of America's Next Top Model. She went on to land a stream of editorial work plus two Playboy covers and also starred in two reality shows: The Surreal Life , where she met Christopher Knight, her now ex-husband and co-star in My Fair Brady. She hasn't done much modeling work, but is an avid gamer who live streams herself playing and actively participates in cosplay.

Today in TV History: Tyra Banks Sent Her Top Models Careering Around Paris

Top Model is back and I couldn't be happier! Over the past 13 years, we were treated to a tooch load of great moments and even greater people. Some were nuts, some were fierce, some were cool, some were Kristin. This list is a definitive ranking of each of the contestants up until now, and by that I mean it is totally based on my subjective experience as a super fan.

Surely a show that starts with Broadway-fave Sutton Foster wearing a feathered headdress has to have potential.

America's Next Top Model 3

I didn't see too much of her besides them telling her not to make it hoochie. But I love Isis! She's one strong cookie! I like Isis, of course : I also liked Sheena. I don't know why.

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 22 Episode 3: Who Thought Up The Skinny Belt Bondage Challenge?

PR genius, reality TV star, public speaker, fashion guru, and author Kelly Cutrone is a force to be reckoned with. She was such a hit on the show that, within a year of her hit shows on MTV, she was offered her own show by Bravo, Kell on Earth. Later, she released a follow up to her first book, Normal Gets You Nowhere , where she encourages readers to see the correlation between consciousness and commerce. You have your own unique fingerprint. Well, not so much. In fact, Kelly studied to be a nurse and graduated with a nursing degree before embarking on a career that she would later realize was her calling. The Guys and Girls edition has a much more interesting dynamic and this season will include the models dealing with a lot of house stuff. There will be love affairs, breakups, and a lot of male competition.

(DWTS); the competition-style reality show America's Next Top Model season (episode 3), Bleu performs a quickstep, which is not only one of the most.

If you missed the panel, the last question asked was to come with just one word as a season theme. Well, sure enough, all of those words came up for me during this third episode! No one can question that these two people are crazy about each other. One of the words used to describe Castle season six came from show-runner and creator Andrew W.

Wanna be on top? After 12 years and 22 cycles, America's Next Top Model is finally ending its search for the next big thing. The reality show, which debuted in May , airs its series finale Friday, Dec. In honor of the show's illustrious run, catch up with the 21 previous winners of ANTM , then and now. The laid-back brunette, then 20, modeled Baby Phat in the final challenge and beat out fellow finalists Shannon Stewart and Elyse Sewell to take home the crown. The star, who covered Playboy and booked a few ad campaigns in the mids, signed on for the fourth season of The Surreal Life , where she met and started dating The Brady Bunch alum Christopher Knight.

However, people in the bar see Amanda as an innocent woman and turn on Tony.

My goodness, do we have a show ahead this week. Ha, ha! No, not that last one. Even though the Top Model producers have clearly decided to hit their young women—gay men audience sweet spot, for some reason that means showing lots of male chest and throwing young women and their life prospects straight down a hole. Could we get Amy Poehler to consult over there or something? The deal is that the models will walk a clear runway four stories high over a gap between shipping containers. And yes, of course this high-wire hanging and dropping is an obvious parallel to the legendary rope-dangling escape down a perilous hillside with the mysterious Cathar treasure the night before the Catholic army attacked.

Reality TV execs must have made casting a North Dakota beauty on modeling shows mandatory. Candid confessionals by contestants, check. A hearty helping of cat fights, check. Underdog contender from Peace Garden State, check.
