Are Valve Amps Forever or Have YOU Compromised?

I think most of you (if you've ended up at this channel) will have at least dabbled with some modelling stuff, whether it's Helix, Kemper or Fractal or whatever. For me I still like to try and use live amps in certain scenarios, and I wanted to try and rationalise in my head what are the compromises that I think are important?
The key factors that would lead me to modelling would be a) Size and b) Convenience, and those are the slightly negative factors about a real amp (or many real amps); fairly large weighty things that don't tend to have a 1000 tones....
So I'd like to hear from you - when do you compromise - and why? Gone to the dark side? Returned from the dark side? Ditched the pedal board?
