Avro Lancaster – Landing a Heavy Bomber at Night

Published
In this video, we shall cover Standard Beam Approach, used by Avro Lancaster Bomber pilots. We shall look at its function, and location of equipment within the Lancaster and provide a demonstration of how it worked in practice. Standard Beam Approach was also used in the Handley Page Halifax, Short Stirling, and the Vickers Wellington Bombers.

As always, we shall be referring to wartime Air Ministry Manuals.

I hope you find this interesting.

Join us, as we take a tour of the SBA or Standard Beam Approach. As we embark on a journey aimed at promoting UK Aviation Heritage.
