Batch Processes: Dynamic Data-Driven Optimization

Prof. Christos Georgakis is a Distinguished Professor at Tufts University in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. He was previously a professor at MIT, Lehigh University, and New York University. He is the director and organizer of Future Innovation in Process System Engineering, a conference held every 2 years to discuss unsolved challenges in Process Systems Engineering. He earned Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, MS University of Illinois at Chicago, and Bachelors degree from National Technical University of Athens. He is a fellow of the AIChE, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and IFAC. He served as President of the American Automatic Control Council from 2002-03. His research activities focus on the development of data-driven modeling methodologies with applications in both batch and continuous processes. He has 7760 citations of his work with an h-index of 42. In 2001, he received the Computing Award of the CAST Division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Today we are honoring him for the 2022 CAST Division Distinguished Service Award.
