Bihar Speaker Resign: Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha Resigns Before Floor Test, Says 'Public Will Decide'

Published
Nitish Kumar government has to prove majority in Bihar assembly today. As soon as the proceedings of the House began, Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha gave a speech and then resigned. The RJD had announced to bring a no-confidence motion against him. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav were also present in the house during the proceedings.

In the speech, he said that we would have taken decisions according to the sentiments of the members of the House but we were not given such an opportunity. The government changed on 9 August and the new government was formed on 10 August. I myself would have quit after the new government was formed, but a no-confidence motion came against us.
