The BOSS DS-1 and I go way back to around 1978 or so when I bought my first unit. The now iconic orange stompbox has been in production ever since making it their top-selling compact pedal ever. Well, now there's a reason to buy another one. The BOSS DS-1w now comes with the Waza Craft badge and with it a 'Custom' mode that offers a mid-focused, thicker, more dynamic and less scooped tone. The Custom mode is also +6dB louder than Standard mode so you're really getting two very different versions of the DS-1 in 1. Backing off the Distortion and cranking the Level turns the DS-1w into a formidable boost too. There's a lot to love about the DS-1w. Oh yeah, this one is Made In Japan.
