In this episode I'm pleased to show you an incredibly cool piece of gear: an original vintage Fender blackface Vibroverb from 1965.
This amplifier has an adventurous past; I have to thank its latest owner, my friend Enrico Tozzini, who allowed me to intercept it just before it flew to a new home in Germany.
The blackface Vibroverb boasts a strong testimonial; in fact, the fortunes of this model dramatically changed when Stevie Ray Vaughan released his debut album “Texas Flood”. For that
studio sessions Vaughan used simultaneously 2 Vibroverb amps from late 1963.
The Vibroverb ended up as the most most sought after and valuable gem from the “blackface era” of the mid-1960’s.
As always we’ll start from the beginning and look at a comprehensive overview of this cherished model: from its introduction in early 1963 to the more recent reissue models of the 90's and 2000's.
This video includes information that you won’t easily find elsewhere!
