Building a 4K Capable HDMI TV Backlight using HyperHDR/Hyperion (and a WiFi LED Strip)

Published
In this video I will be building a TV bias lighting system that can receive a 4K 60fps signal over HDMI and will adjust the RGB LEDs accordingly based on the content of the video feed. For this I'll be using a fork of the Hyperion project called HyperHDR which is basically the same thing with additional colour mapping functionality to handle HDR signals. Additionally, I'll be using a SP501e LED controller flashed with the WLED firmware to allow the LED strip to be located remotely from the HDMI capture device and controlled over the network.

WLED firmware (unofficial third party build for the SP501e, requires 2M flash): https://github.com/srg74/WLED-wemos-shield/blob/master/resources/Firmware/WLED_wemos_shield/v0.13.0-b3/SP501E_2m.bin
