CLS1000 Fibre optic controller and sensors detect impurities in plastic tube

Published
Making the invisible visible

Detection of the smallest inclusions barely visible to the eye, such as air bubbles or foreign bodies in an opaque white-coloured plastic tube.
optoCONTROL CLS1000 fibre optic sensors from Micro-Epsilon are used during production (extrusion), to detect inclusions such as air bubbles that form on the inner wall of the tube. In addition, foreign bodies can also be detected.

Due to the high amplifier power of the CLS1000, the sensor can reliably detect exactly these and thus check the quality of the hose directly in production.

Advantages:
- Time saving.
- Cost-effective inspection directly during production.
- Adaptable to other situations.
- Cancellable measurement possible by triggering.

Simple operation:
With the help of one of the many TEACH functions, the target state is taught in here in the video. As soon as there is a deviation, a change in voltage is the result and a switching signal is output (visible on the controller display). In addition, the partial measuring range in the video has been scaled to the entire display range with the help of the spread function in order to clarify the change of state.

Further versions:
- CLS1000-QN with antivalence function (make/break contact)
- CLS1000-2Q with two switching outputs
- CLS1000-OC with optocoupler
- CLS1000-AI with current output All models available with NPN, PNP or push-pull, as well as with and without trigger.
