Concert with Conversation: Jason Vieaux

The free Concert with Conversation series features world-class musicians performing in the CMC concert hall. Each short concert is followed by a Q & A session, where the audience can learn about the lives, hard-work, and inspiration of these artists.

Grammy Award-winner Jason Vieaux, “among the elite of today’s classical guitarists” (Gramophone), is the guitarist that goes beyond the classical. His most recent solo album, Play, won the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo. Jason Vieaux has performed as soloist with over 100 orchestras in the U.S. and abroad. The evening’s program includes works by J.S. Bach, Leo Brouwer, Pat Metheny, Jorge Morel, and original compositions.(https://www.jasonvieaux.com/)

Community Music Center (CMC) is celebrating 100 years of music for everyone! A nonprofit music school and performance space with branches in the Mission and Richmond Districts, CMC provides high-quality music to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, regardless of financial means. Last year, CMC awarded nearly $2.8M in tuition assistance, serving more than 2,800 students. The school offers online and in-person music lessons and classes on over 30 instruments, and a wide range of musical styles, including jazz, blues, Latin, pop, folk, rock, and western classical.
