Copland Audio has been enjoying the ongoing release of amplifiers to its range over the past few years, but the new CTA407 is very much its top-of-the-range full-blooded tube integrated amplifier.

While its smaller brothers that have been launched previously featured a Hybrid configuration, employing Copland's double triode gain stage with MOS-FET buffering, the CTA407's power stages are also tube equipped.
The push-pull output stages consist of a pair of matched power tubes in a fixed ultra-linear configuration, providing the low distortion of triodes and the power of tetrode valves. According to the company, a pair of 6550 or KT-family tubes in push-pull configuration can deliver more than 100W of audio power. Moderating the power output, the CTA407 delivers 2x50W in high biased class A/AB mode - while the amplifier can deliver most of its power while operating in class A.
The CTA407 employs five line-level inputs, including a tape monitor loop, a built-in RIAA phono circuit accommodating moving magnet, and high output moving coil cartridges.
The CTA407 employs a motor-driven volume control and can be fully controlled by the Copland RC102A remote control unit.
