Electron Audio ION Monoblocks with Luxman C-5000a and Luxman D-38u

Quick review of the very special ION monoblocks from Electron Audio in Croatia.
These amps feature a hybrid design, with a Class A single ended triode and no NFB for the first amplification stage mated to a powerful Class D for the output stage section.
These are 250WPC 8ohm and 500WPC into 4ohm. They are rated to drive down to 2ohm loads.
The tubes in these particular units are ECC88 from Telefunken.
The Luxman D-38u DC player uses a ECC82 triode on the buffer stage when the tube output is selected.
The Luxman C-5000a is a full solid state preamplifier.
