I've decided to build a mixer that would satisfy all my noisy needs; currently, I'm using a Roland 531 together with a Boum from Oto Machines to add analog saturation and compression, so I got inspired to build a mixer with character and with old warmly tape saturation and compression into one single module that I can just use in my rack.
After a few tries with a mix of ordinary switching diodes and germanium diodes, I think I have found my warmth!
Hopefully, you can "feel" the test and notice that the second part of the audio with 100% saturation active is less loud than the first one, even though it "feels" louder; target achieved!
Coming in 2023,
Cheers
