An ITN news feature aired in 1994 about fibre optics, featuring Quentin Howard, Classic FM presenter of a live phone-in music quiz, broadcasting live from home in Devizes on the UK's national commercial radio station. Howard is generally credited with being the first presenter to broadcast regularly from home. He began in 1992 using some of the first digital telephone circuits then available, pioneering the use of ISDN and the APTX audio codec to deliver stereo 15kHz audio using 2 ISDN lines (4 x B channels).
