Fighting noise, spurious #spikes and #self-oscillations is one of the hardest job every electronics geek have to troubleshoot sooner or later. I investigated into some spurious oscillations in my double function generator (that features two independent oscillators), and it went a good occasion to discuss how to spot and curb self-oscillations, and about the stability of operational amplifiers, phase shift in relation to the gain and frequency, and some important considerations about how power supply and signals are carried to the #opamp.
