GOP Leadership DISASTER! House Adjourns For Second Day Without Electing A Speaker | Roland Martin

Published
The House adjourned until 8p EST for a possible 7th vote to determine who will be the next House Speaker.

The multiple rounds of voting we are seeing haven't happened since 1923.
To be elected speaker, a candidate must win a majority of members who vote for a specific person on the House floor. That amounts to 218 votes if no member skips the vote or votes "present."

Several Republicans have vowed to oppose Kevin McCarthy, who has been splitting votes with Florida Representative Byron Donalds. With Donalds being nominated for House Speaker, it's the first time two black representatives have been in the running for the position.
