The House of Representatives adjourned without electing a speaker on Tuesday after Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy failed to win a majority on three ballots. The third round of voting for House speaker ended with McCarthy receiving one less vote — giving Rep. Jim Jordan one more vote. Democratic Rep. Hakeem Jeffries received 212 votes, while McCarthy received 202 and Jordan earned 20.
