House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy Hopeful to Become Speaker of the House | EWTN News Nightly

It's election day in the United States with the balance of power in Congress at stake. All 435 US House seats and 35 Senate seats are up for grabs. Many are toss ups. In some states, voters are deciding ballot initiatives, including abortion access. The mood is upbeat at House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's event, which he hopes will be a victory party for the Republicans. Polls are still open across the country, with many areas seeing heavy turnout. Kevin McCarthy is expected to be the next House Speaker if Republicans win. Representative McCarthy says, "We produced a plan for new directions for America. In listening to them, as they're asking the question if they could afford it. They want an economy that's strong. They've just lost a full month of wages because inflation's gone up. Stop inflation, lower the gas price." The House Minority Leader says the Republicans' commitment to America will hold government accountable for its actions, starting with the Biden Administration. Capitol Hill Correspondent, Erik Rosales reports.
