How Anthony Albanese would have approached an independent to be Speaker of the House

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says he was told that if Labor had only won 75 or 76 seats, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese would have approached an independent to be speaker of the House of Representatives.

Labor is projected to form majority government with Macnamara in sight to be won – along with a tight lead in Gilmore.

“The MP with the numbers to become speaker is apparently Queensland's Milton Dick,” Mr Clennell said.
