How I Mic Up A Fender Blues Junior Guitar tube amp.
I find 2" into the edge of the cone with a Shure sm57 pointing at the centre, does great for me .
I sometimes use a ribbon mic. I'll place that directly aimed at the centre of the cone. The distance varies on how hard the amp is being driven. Move the ribbon or similar mic forwards or backwards to find that sweet spot.
