How It Works - The Old Treble-Cutting "Tone Control"

Published
A brief discussion and examples how one of the most commonly used tone control circuit works. The example is based on the design from the Knight 98AE-184K receiver from the mid 1930s.

A capacitor and potentiometer combined make up a low pass filter circuit leveraging the capacitive reactance (opposition to the AC signal at different frequencies) of capacitor C1.
