I chose "Imagine" for today's video for a good reason! Of course, strongly influenced by the very current world-political war events in Europe, but as well as elsewhere apparently constantly somewhere around the world, this makes this song number 1 on my list of songs that "I Wish I Had Written Myself". I came up with a special version especially for this video, which is really very long, but I hope you like it as much as I do!? And if that's the case, then I just want you to sing along; not FOR someone who is right and also not AGAINST someone who seems to be wrong, but just for PEACE in our world... between ALL people! And I hope that this gives you courage and takes away some of the fear that we are all feeling stronger than ever at the moment! I'm also trying to imagine what John Lennon would say today...he would be 81 years old by now...to all the wars in the world if he were alive!?

This video is the seventh in my YouTube series called "A Couple Of Songs I Wish I Had Written Myself", in which I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite songs every week. And I record the whole thing for you in exactly the same way that you may have heard and seen me do it "live on stage": In addition to my good old Maton guitar, I use my Neumann microphone, my Schmidt Array pedalboard with Empress Reverb and other pedals, my Tambourine and my Cromacord amplifier. For the big middle part of the song, I looped various guitar parts and many different vocals on top of each other to give the impression of a large choir. I really enjoyed that!

I wish you a lot of fun watching and listening and by the way you can also switch the subtitles on and off for the entire video! These are available to you in German and English, for example to sing along to the lyrics or to understand what the song is about.
