The new Kia crossover is one of the very few electric vehicles with an 800-volt charging capacity. All drive versions of the EV6 can therefore be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes at appropriately powerful charging stations. And “refueling” a range of 100 kilometers for a rear-wheel drive vehicle with a 77.4 kWh battery, for example, takes just four and a half minutes. This drive variant also gets the furthest with one battery charge: up to 528 kilometers in a combined cycle and up to 740 kilometers in city traffic (values for 19-inch wheels). And even the basic model with a 58 kWh battery and 394 kilometers of combined range can be driven for more than a week with average use before the battery has to be recharged (at 15,000 km per year, the weekly mileage is approx. 290 km).
Inside, the EV6 is clearly recognizable as a scion of the electric vehicle era. With the generous dimensions and the level floor, the interior benefits greatly from the new E-GMP platform. Due to the wheelbase of 2.90 meters, the crossover has a similar amount of space as a mid-size SUV, to which the slim, minimalist architecture of the dashboard also contributes. A characteristic design element is the curved panorama display with two 31.2 cm (12.3 inch) screens that are seamlessly connected: the fully digital instrument cluster on the left, the navigation system's touchscreen (both standard) on the right. The optional "Premium Relaxion seats" at the front not only ensure maximum seating comfort when driving. When parking or charging stops, they can be moved into a comfortable lying position at the push of a button. With the high-quality and haptically pleasant materials in the interior, particular emphasis was placed on sustainability, from vegan seat covers in leather or suede look to fabrics and carpets made from recycled plastic.
The EV6 shows its practical side in the luggage compartment. It has a capacity of 490 liters (with GT package: 480 liters), which can be expanded to 1,300 liters by folding down the seats in the second row (with GT package: 1,260 liters), and has a ski hatch as standard . The stowage space under the front hood ("Frunk") holds 52 liters for rear-wheel drive models and 20 liters for all-wheel drive vehicles. In addition, the electric crossover is also prepared for larger transport tasks: the versions with 77.4 kWh battery could pull braked trailers of up to 1.6 tons (basic model with 58 kWh battery: up to 750 kg).
The EV6 offers the driver comprehensive support through the latest technologies. The optional head-up display has augmented reality (AR) functions. This makes it possible, for example, to project the turn-by-turn instructions from the navigation system "onto the street" around 7.5 meters in front of the vehicle. The standard Kia Connect telematics system also provides helpful information. Among other things, it offers extremely precise, cloud-based online navigation, real-time traffic information and the display of charging stations
There is also a wide range of driver assistance systems. The standard equipment already includes a navigation-based adaptive cruise control system with stop-and-go function, traffic jam assistant, motorway assistant, intelligent speed assistant, front collision warning with pedestrian and bicycle detection as well as turning function, active lane departure warning, drowsiness warning and high beam assistant. Motorway assistants with lane change support, blind spot assistants with monitor display, steering and braking intervention, front collision warning systems with cross traffic function, rear cross traffic warning systems with emergency braking function, exit assistants, all-round vision cameras and adaptive dual-LED headlights that automatically adjust the illumination of the road to the traffic situation, and a remote are also available as options Parking assistant that can autonomously maneuver the EV6 into tight parking spaces or garage parking spaces by remote control.
In addition to the elements already mentioned, the standard equipment of the EV6 includes, among other things, two-zone automatic air conditioning, seat covers in a fabric-synthetic leather combination, driver's seat with electrically adjustable lumbar support, front seat heating, steering wheel heating, rear parking sensors, reversing camera, electrically folding exterior mirrors, self-dimming interior mirror, Smart -Key, LED headlights, LED taillights, door handles with manual flush function and a 3-phase on-board charger for fast AC charging. In addition to the elements already mentioned, a Meridian Premium sound system with 14 loudspeakers, an electric sliding glass roof, sensor-controlled electric tailgate, 20-inch alloy wheels (GT package: 21 inch), front seat ventilation, sports pedals, ambient lighting, and automatic door handles are available as options Flush function and a heat pump to improve the real range when the outside temperature is low.
