Line 6 | Backstage with Line 6 | Original Amp Designs – Clarity and Carillon

In a first from Line 6, this pair of videos showcases some new amp voicings we’ve been working on that, as of this video’s release date, are actually not in a Line 6 product. Performed by Los Angeles-based session guitarist, songwriter, and producer Steve Fekete, what you’re hearing in Video #1 are two Original Amp Designs, unique amp sounds that are not a model of an existing physical guitar amp. They were crafted by the Line 6 Sound Design team and employ our celebrated HX technology. Featured in this video are:

CLARITY – Inspired by classic clean solid-state and tube amps. There is a huge amount of clean headroom with just a touch of overdrive at the very end of the Drive knob's range. The tone is articulate, while maintaining warmth around the notes. Boost adds a touch of asymmetrical overdrive and warmth.

CARILLON – Inspired by modern and vintage versions of a popular EL84 tube, cathode biased, British amp circuit. We kept the good quirks and eliminated the ugly ones, while also making the tone controls more flexible. The Boost is based on a germanium Top Boost circuit often integrated into this historic amplifier.
