MARCEL YAMMOUNI - Musician of the Month - March 2023

I guess you’d call Melbourne-based multi-instrumentalist Marcel Yammouni aka Captain Vibe a quiet achiever. He is incredibly talented, has released two accomplished solo albums and has worked with some amazing artists both as musician and producer, yet he’s still not a household name. He should be. Whether it’s guitar, bass, ukulele, or production, Marcel is the go-to guy for so many recording projects or television and stage productions looking for that something special. His current album is an ambient rock artpiece called Non Essential Arteries. He’s also just released a mighty fine single titled Eternal Horizon, a tribute to his guitar hero Jeff Beck.

On the eve of the 2023 Melbourne Guitar Show, where Marcel is playing in the Blues Roulette Jam and also presenting a demo for Lauda Guitars, Australian Musician editor sat down with Marcel Yammouni for a chat about his career, gear and recordings as our Musician of the Month for March.
