Mass Loading Your Speakers with Sand for Better Sound?!?

Published
Mass loading a speaker cabinet has advantages in reducing unwanted resonances which can help tighten up the bass and clarity in the vocals. We look at how to do this in our own reference speakers the RBH Sound SVTRS Active system. This is a loudspeaker that provisions for mass loading by having a compartment that can be loaded with aquarium sand or lead shot.

NOTE: Check with the manufacturer of your loudspeakers before doing this to make sure they can accommodate this tweak.
