A key feature launched in NAD’s famous 3020 was SoftClipping, which prevented the amplifier from “clipping” – a phenomenon caused by crescendos of music that required dynamic power that many A/B amplifiers of the time could not produce, and that often damaged the speakers connected to the amplifier.
