Talking about my radio experiments in dec/nov 2021 on MW and LW (long wave)

This video shows my experiments during the past months, say autumn/winter 2021. The video is made for (a kind of) “amusement”, so not too serious.

I talk about links to my earlier video’s about the MW-LW receiver, radio coils, etc. I will try to give in the coming days (we live now 5 December 2021) some relevant links about the issues that I am talking about in this video. Have to search that out, what is relevant (or not).

Making radio coils

Corrections to this video:

A) In the schematic on 4.30 (with the FET etc.) the coil L2 (to ground) is also 300 windings made of (what I call) “ape hair”. That means: very thin copper wire, of course the isolated type.

B) On 10.02 I say “medium wave filter” (medium wave is say 700 KC-1.6 MC) but of course I mean a radio filter that was made for Long Wave Radio reception (say starting around 150 KC).

C) On 12.42 I say “carbon filter” but of course I mean “cardboard filter”. Cardboard (say paper) is the material of which the form is made. Good properties of paper for a radio coil form are this: extremely low loss + the tube with the coil/copper windings on it can move easily on that ferrite rod (here: of 1 cm in diameter) from the left to the right, getting it to its best resonance peak to receive MW or LW radio stations.

I keep all my YT videos constant actual, so the original video’s with the most recent information are always on YouTube. Search there, and avoid my circuits that are republished, re-arranged, re-edited on other websites, giving not probable re-wiring, etc.
