Testing my used AV Receiver

Was I right in buying a used receiver from a thrift store without fulling testing it? Time to find out as I test the remaining ports!

I test the RCA ports for DVD and cable/satellite but really just use my phone's music player since all it does is sound anyway.

I also test the video HDMI ports plus the composite cable port to see if it'll really forward the video up to my tv.
