Today I talk about the Cary SLP-05 Tube Pre-Amp. It's been in my system for a while now and I have been enjoying the sound from this legendary preamp. This one has the Ultimate Upgrade from Cary and sounds like a mix of classic tubes but with extension. dynamics and punch. This brings a smidge of romance to your system, but doesn't sound slow, mushy or tubby.

In fact, it's pretty magical what it is doing here.

The SLP-05 renders its tube goodness in the form of body, heft, bass kick, punch and a very large holographic soundstage. Its sounds good with all music, all genres and it delivers music with authority and that organic human touch.

It's a perfect mate with these Pass Labs XA60.8 Amps and delivers serous refined and high end sound. THIS is a preamp one must listen to to appreciate. Even after 16 years it's drop dead gorgeous and sounds as good as any pre I have heard, if not better.
