Transel 'Firecracker 50' single 6LQ6 tube linear amplifier on the bench.

Made by Transel, the same people who made the infamous Nitro 300A, and made a few nice Wattmeters, a rare 'Firecracker 50' 1 tube 10 meter linear low drive linear amplifier. Uses a single 6LQ6 tube in tetrode mode, but this is not a modulator type amp. 2 1/2 watts in swinging to 7, it dead keys 50 and swings backwards on average and swings to about 60 peak. It is the kid brother in looks and design of the infamous Nitro 300A. I like the looks of this rare piece, but the performance is meh. I wish is was a modulator, I wish it had a variable, tuned input would be good, but it does have a fairly low input SWR without it, and a meter would be nice too. Anyway, since it is rare and with it's good looks and matching the Nitro 300A, I am going to keep one of these in the collection. It's going right next to my Nitro 300A.
