Uttar Pradesh: Police remove 54,000 loudspeakers from religious sites in a statewide drive

In just the last one week, Uttar Pradesh police have removed 54,000 loudspeakers from religious sites of various communities. The statewide drive has ensured compliance with government directives over the use of loudspeakers. Recently, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had instructed officials on the use of loudspeakers at religious sites. He had asked them to ensure that public address systems are not installed at religious sites without prior permission. Adityanath had also directed that no religious procession should be taken out without permission.
