Weather report - a quick test of Klima and Idein via Data Bender

Published
I've been away from the modular for a while. However, when the very generous FKMG Circuits (https://www.fkmg-circuits.com/devices) sent me two new modules that integrate the external environment into modular systems, I couldn't resist quickly patching something together.

The first module, Klima, measures the ambient temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure and relative altitude of the performance environment and, put simply, produces logic-based rhythmic structures from these. The second, Idein, detects RGB and infra-red light changes in the environment and produces triggers based on this (I'm using a colour-changing LED globe to interact with it in this patch).

I really love the ethos of FKMG - it resonates strongly with what I've always tried to do by integrating sensors, datasets, chaotic circuitry and gesture into my composition, and I can't wait to experiment more with these new toys!

Also featured in this patch is Data Bender, a module that is described as "a circuit bent digital audio buffer... inspired by the ways in which audio equipment can fail." I've always been a fan of the clicks and pops aesthetic most commonly associated with late 90s and early 2000s Mille Plateaux releases, so this is right up my street.
